Step-by-Step Guide to Training Your AI Assistant​

Follow these steps to train your AI assistant with a knowledge base:

1. Open Your Assistant​

  • Go to the Assistants page in Addy AI.
  • Select the assistant you want to train.

2. Navigate to the Knowledge Base Section​

  • Scroll down to the Knowledge Base section on the assistant’s page.
  • This is where you can add training data, such as websites, PDFs, or text files.

3. Adding a Website to the Knowledge Base​

  1. Click "Add Knowledge Base":

    • A popup will appear.

  2. Enter a Website:

    • Type the URL of the website you want to use for training.
    • Example: https://www.addy-ai.com.

  3. Set the Number of Pages:

    • Choose how many pages to scan (e.g., 20 pages).
    • The assistant will scrape these pages for information.

  4. Scan the Website:

    • Click Scan and wait for the process to complete. This may take a few minutes.

  5. Review and Edit Pages:

    • After scanning, review the retrieved pages.
    • Remove any pages you don’t want to include in the training, such as irrelevant content.

  6. Confirm Pages:

    • Click Continue to finalize the website data.

4. Adding a File to the Knowledge Base​

  1. Click "Upload File":

    • Drag and drop a file or use your file system to select it.
    • Supported formats include PDFs, text files, and Word documents.

  2. Upload a File:

    • Example: Upload a PDF like "The Fannie Mae Sellers Guide."

  3. Verify Uploaded Files:

    • Ensure the file appears in the list of added training data.

5. Save the Training Data​

  • After adding websites or files, click Save for the training data.
  • This step is essential to ensure the assistant begins processing the data.

6. Save the Entire Assistant​

  • After saving the training data, click Save for the entire assistant.
  • This finalizes the changes and initiates the training process.

7. Training Completion​

  • The training process takes about 10–15 minutes.
  • You will receive an email notification once the training is complete.
